rigid riser kit and bath shower mixer

Hi folks, hope someone can help me with my situation.

I wanted to replace my existing tired looking shower head with a new exposed rigid riser kit. I wanted to know what sort of things i should look out for before purchasing the riser kit.

I want to connect the exposed riser kit to a bath shower mixer in place of the shower hose. I have searched the web for rigid riser kits available but am unsure if they are suitable for what I am looking to do?

I am assuming it is a case of unscrewing the shower hose from the bath shower mixer and replacing it with the rigid riser and then mounting the riser onto the wall. Am I missing something?
