I wondered if somebody could answer this question?

I am having a new double oven fitted and a I need a new feed running from the consumer unit at the front of the house into the kitchen...My question is does this need to be run under the floorboards or can it be run down the outside of the house??

The reason I ask is I have just had new gas pipes fitted from the front of the house to the kitchen and the plumber ran them down the outside and side that was a common practise?

Thanks in advance..

It can be done but it'll need protection against sunlight and damage so you're really looking at running it in armoured cable.

Just because it's common it doesn't make it good practice - it always looks tacky. If you can stick it under the floor.

It is very rare to do it like this and really is only an absoloute last resort.

In which case you'll have to do as suggested above. More fuss than it's worth.
