I will soon be doing my kitchen wiring.. ( yes I will notify the LABC before comencing work.. )

I have put up a studwork partition in the kitchen against a brick wall which will hide some pipes and such ( rad pipes and a gas pipe to the cooker and through to fire and rad in lounge. ) It will also have a layer of plywood under the top layer of plasterboard to make fixing the cabinets easier..

since the studwork is 100mm deep and the wires will be fixed to the wall, do they have to be in the "safe zones" as they will be more than 50mm deep into the wall and are not accesible from the other side?

Hi ColJack,

I personally think the 50mm depth 'thing' is only to do with protection, and that all the cables should be within the 'safe' zones still.

Just my impression of the Reg. (and I don't usually do impressions ).
Cheers
Ed.
