Satchwell TLX 2259 Thermostat

Hi,

Would appreciate some advice. Have attempted to replace my thermostat with a different type (Honeywell THR840DUK). The new one whem fitted kept blowing the fuse.

I have re-instated the Satchwell wiring as it was when I removed;

Terminal 1 - Blue
Terminal 3 - Brown
Terminal 4 - Green/Yellow
Back Plate - Bare Earth Wire

When I turn the thermostat up to kick-in the boiler/heathing the fuse keeps blowing.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

If you have wired it exactly as before then it should be fine. The 2259 is -

Terminal 1 - Switched live
Terminal 3 - Live
Terminal 4 - Neutral

Which, at a guess with your colours would be -

Terminal 1 - Green/Yellow (which is a no no)
Terminal 3 - Brown
Terminal 4 - Blue

Just to stress, this is a guess and the colours could be used any way round. Would need to test with a multimeter to confirm.

The neutral is not required for the new stat.
