sealing marine ply subfloor?

Hi All
I am laying 18mm marine ply subfloor in my bathroom...I have doubled the number of underfloor joists to add stiffness.

This will then be tiled...after fitment of Ditra matting.

Question is..I was contemplating sealing the edges and surface of the marine ply floor first to give additional protection.

Do you think this will have any adverse effects? I'm thinking primarily about adhesion of mortar used to lay he Ditra matting

Just so I've got this straight...
Do I go ahead with the sealer first?

And then apply primer to the ply before mortering the Ditra to the plywood?

Or do I add the SBR to the mortar?
