Hi folks,

We started refurbishing the house and took the radiators off so that the walls could be plastered and painted. Unfortunately we had to move to my MIL house due to her illness and couldn't go on with the project.

The radiators have been off the walls for about an year. Is it OK to put them back? Do we have to flash them beforehand?

Kind regards!

There will almost certainly be rust flakes in them if left outside and empty for the low cost of a rad i would see it as a good time to replace them, if you do you them again give them a thorough flush and get everything out of them

Ideally they should have been washed out just after they were removed.
Obviously we don't know how dirty they were anyway, but if they had sediment inside this will be like concrete by now.
I've always considered new rads to be good value, and it makes sense to renew the valves at the same time.
John :)
