I hope ...
Small space, 5' x 4', have prepared/strengthened joists and noggins and will tile with 8mm porcelain quarry tiles, mosaic style, each "main" tile is 4.5cm square, longer border ones, 14cm by 2.5cm. Not a bathroom or wet area.
To bring it up to floor height I have a couple of choices:
1: 25mm ply
2: 18mm ply and 6mm backer board
What would you go for? The ply only option is likely cheaper overall and less work, what advantage does using the backer board give me?
ta!
