Hi - fitted a sink worktop and unit in my utility room over the weekend. Only problem was connecting the waste, hoping for a bit of advice.

The sink waste kit has a 40mm thread but the bottle trap has what seems to measure as a 38mm threaded connection so couldn't join the two together. I then need to run this to a 43mm waste pipe. Any ideas what i need?

Thanks for the help.

if your measuring the diameter of the thread at 38mm (1 1/2")
then it sounds like you have a 32mm bottle trap not a 40mm.

a 40mm waste trap like this will fit a kitchen sink and waste pipe.

Would you not reccommend a bottle trap?

Want to make sure i get the appropriate part now i know the correct size.

Cheers

i never use bottle traps on sinks only basins.
i find they clog easy on kitchen sinks.
