I would like to replace the crummy old hardboard-faced door on my understair cupboard with something more modern, maybe a 6-panel design, but it's 72in x 27in. Does anyone know of a supplier of this size?

Hi,

I don't think you'll find one "off the shelf" at 72" high :(

Mass produced doors (XL Joinery, LPD etc) will only reduce by a maximum of 6-10mm per edge without invalidating the guarantee so that's not really an option. The cost of a bespoke door would come as a bit of a shock

It may be a daft question, but have you tried eBay?

Hi,

While you can't get the size of for you require off the shelf, give DirectDoors.com a call as it is possible to cut down a flush door in height as long as the correct care is taken.

The other option is to cut down a hollow type panel door, you would have to cut some from the top and the remainder from the bottom, again, as long as you get the door framed at the top and bottom it will be fine and stable but obviously the top/bottom rails will be much smaller.

I also wouldn't recommend getting a door made to order as it costs the same to make this internal door as it would the external door.
