I'm having a kitchen fitted and there's already a socket in the wall about 30cm from the floor which will be where the integrated dishwasher will go. This socket is fed by an isolating switch which will be above the worktops.
The kitchen fitter said that I can't use the socket for an integrated applicance, I have to replace the socket with a FCU and either connect an extension to the FCU and have the extension accessible on the floor behind the pelmet or I need to remove the plug from the applicance and connect it to the FCU but the warranty of the dishwasher may be in-validated.
Is he, right, you can't have a socket behind an integrated applicance and use it for the applicance?
