Solar Hot Water heating.

Seeing myself as a 'Green' person I stupidly had fitted a Solar hot water system. I am now caught between leaving it in active and get no hot water or get someone in to recharge the accumulator at a cost of more than 3 years saving in hot water fees. does anyone know how I can do this myself?
