Solar motion detector light + solar lights - any good?

Someone suggested getting solar motion detectors

Are they any good?

I was going to purchase... but then someone told me that they are not exactly bright!

ALSO, solar garden lights - are these any good?
I've seen some for sale - a pack of 10 for £15
Sounds great to me!
But then someone told me:

- the light will ONLY last upto 2am (depending what time of year)
- you have the trouble of when the rechargeable battery runs out

The same person told me that the opted to have wired lights in their garden

Any replies would be greatly appreciated
