But do you mean touch up the door, or repaint the whole thing?

If you're doing the whole door, will you get the finish you want with Hammerite?
It's not the easiest paint to apply to large areas for a DIYer. You may want to consider a (rust killing) primer, undercoat, topcoat.

.................and since I had the primer, undercoat and topcoat in the shed, that's exactly what I did do after reading your reply! Thanks for your help.
