Hi, I'm a newbie to this site but would be very grateful for some advice.
I've been asked to make 20 octagonal picnic tables which will end up in a beer garden. I was intending to use regularized tanalized timber as it should offer good protection from the weather and I can get it at a reasonable price. Trouble is the guy has decided he doesn't like the green colour.
What product would you recommend to use to stain them? Ideally, whatever i use I'd like to get away with using 1 coat because there will be about 1000m to do altogether and I'm under a bit of pressure to keep the price down.
If I'm staining them do you think it's still worth using tanalised timber? I have asked my local branch of Jewsons for a price for untreated regularised but they are yet to get back to me.
Would really appreciate any advice, thanks in advance
Stephen

Tanalised timber is always a good move in this situation....I think you could find a good stain / varnish for garden furniture from the Sadolin range, and Wickes do a good dark oak stain that covers well - costs around £25 for 2.5 litres but well worth it, and doesn't become sticky in the summer heat (if there is such a thing anymore :p )

I always thought Tanalised timber was yellow rather than green, am I colour blind?
