We've lived in our house a few years and while the stairs are not too bad for us lots of people comment on how steep they are (which is true tbh).

Can you give me an idea of how tricky it is to rebuild the stairs? I'm not ready to do it yet so don't need precise information at this stage. I'm just considering the job and working out what's involved.

Is there a way to calculate things? In other words... How much more room will it take up to make them less steep?

Thanks for your help

if its a typical terraced house its virtually impposible without major structural alteration because you need a square landing at least as long as the stairs are wide at the top and bottom
also increased length[shallower angle ] will reduce the head height
