I have a worn stone step from the front door which I will replace one day, but for now I would like to repair it. There are 2 problems
1. Over the years the top of the step has worn in the middle and after a severe downpour, rain finds its way under the door, so I would like to level the top (or slight slope to the outside) with a thin layer of something that will dry to look something like the stone.
2. The bottom of the step is showing signs of errosion. Is there a stabilising solution that is recommended for stone.
Years ago a builder gave me a small quantity of powder (that looked like pure cement) and some white liquid to mix with it. That did a reasonable repair job but I'm not sure what it was.
Would appreciate any suggestions.
