Hi,

When I run a strip of dpc material behind a wall plate for hanging ground floor joists off, how do you avoid the bolts of the wall plate piercing the material?

Thanks

You can't.

But it should not be a problem - your joists and wall plate should be above the level of the dpc anyway

Thanks Tony,

I need to explore current dpc level but I think the wall plate I need to add on existing gable at one end may be below it.

The gable is on a slope and there is currently only around 180mm between inside floor level and outside ground level. How all the correct spacing sexist here between dpc, floor joist, air bricks etc I need to get my head round
