Stuck tap

I'm trying to replace washers in an old basin c/w tap but can't budge the headgear using an adjustable spanner. It seems to be completeley seized up to the tab base. WD 40 hasn't helped. Any suggestions?

Hi there,

Use a ring spanner to reduce slipping.

Give it gentle taps with a hammer, try tightening it a bit first.

Failing that see if you can get your hands on a blow torch and heat it up a bit.
