Hi again all, I am putting a doorway through a 2 foot stone wall into the disused groundfloor room next door and it will become a used room again!
When we moved in the oak boards and joist had collapsed with rot and the soil which they were lay on was very damp!
All removed now so my questions are
If I am putting a new suspended wooden floor in how deep should I dig below the joist bottom?
Should the soil be covered with anything eg gravel, concrete or dpm or any combination of?
Due to the room being 6.2m wide I will need joist support so what is the best method eg sleeper wall or pillars etc?
Is a dwarf wall that runs just inside the room perimeter a good idea?
I am putting some vents in front to back for crossflow.
Thanks for any input
