Going to friends for a few days for new year, just been told shower not working properly.
I have been told it keeps going cold, (the hot water is ok, combi boiler).
I dont know what make of mixer valve it is, it is large, white, has a lever to turn on/off (controls flow).
Are these things repairable?
Any advice appreciated as I would like to fix replace, hate cold showers.

It would be best if you knew the model of the shower there could be a number of reasons why this is happening. Has there ever been any high pressure issues on the system?
Do you know if it is a fault since being installed or if the shower was working correctly and the fault has just occurred.
There is a link here to a Triton mixer valve installation manual, it may help if it has not been set right on installation there is also has a troubleshoot section.

I think it a Mira, Its about 10years old, has been working ok.
Have been having a read, looks like it could be £100 for a part, may be at that age get a new one.
I suppose its about trying to get something that will line up with the pipework as the pipework is all in the wall.

Find out what make and model it is and find a replaceable unit which would fit onto the same foot print from their website.

It is a triton, dont know model

To replace the whole unit, I am guess that a good plumber could do it in about 30 mins, is that about right.
If that is the case I think it might be easier for my friends to have a new unit rather than much about getting a spare part fitted, Im thing cost wise.
