I am changing some of my rads to have trvs on them
problem
the pipe is 10mm and the existing valve has a smaller nut - on 15mm its a straight swop
without cutting the pipe how do i get the olive off to put larger nut on without sawing pipe
this may sound a doopy question but all you experts may have a simpler solution
Thaks

To cut off the olive use a hacksaw till nearly through, then use thin flat bladed screwdriver to prise cut olive open.
This way you are less likely to harm the pipe
If you need to go from 10mm pipe to 15mm valve ,you can get conversion olives that reduce from 15mm to 10mm,these will sit in the bottom nut of the valve instead of the supplied 15mm one :)

You can cut the olive off with a junior hacksaw, just go easy and dont cut into the pipe.

Thanks i had thought of that but worried about cuttin pipe.
I have thought of a little die grinder wih small cut disc?
Whatdo you think
I might have more control than a hacksaw with it juddering etc?

You can now purchase an olive remover tool, but you need one for each size
