I have a small low powered (450w) tile cutter with a 180mm diamond cutting blade. works a treat for tiles and i was wondering if i can change the 180mm blade to a wood / mdf blade.

I would then use it to cut MDF based laminate flooring ( 8mm).

the tile cutter is from wickes in UK (is this a UK based forum !?)

can anyone foresee any problems in doing this?

can you buy replacement blades for the 450w tile saw?
Yes. Wickes sell such blades.
Alternatively you could get 25mm bore, 180mm diamond discs from another supplier and fit those.

You can buy replacement tile blades but you can't use a woodcutting blade.
Table/bench saws have a more powerful motor and revolve at far higher speeds than tile saws.

Even if you found a blade that fitted, it would be extremely dangerous to use as it would inevitably kick the timber back at you.

You can buy fairly cheap table saws for occasional DIY use.

BTW, it is a UK based forum. ;)
