Tiling around a hearth

Just need a quick pointer.

Do i need special heat resistant tile for around the hearth? or would standard floor tiles suffice?

Tiles for hearths are no more fire resistant than any others. They are all fired in kilns when made anyway. i.ve used normal wall tiles many times for this purpose.
