Tiling to the triangle at front of house

I'm not sure what that part is called (maybe Apex )? I want to tile this area but I don't know if I have to remove the bricks or can I just fit the battons on the brick and then hang the tiles

It is called a tile hung gable end like this.....

If you do decide to do it go for the 'winchester' cut against the barge soffit it does look a whole lot better.

P.S. no need to remove the bricks. Counter batten, membrane - batten - tile.
