Timber or steel beam?

Hi

I have built a new garage and now need to fit the frame and door.

What would the best beam to use to support the frame and garage door?

Would a timber beam be OK or would I need to have something like a lightweight steel beam?

The span is about 3m and it would not need to support any weight from above.

Doors are supported by the frame, not a beam
