Just moved into a new house and the toilet seat brackets appear to be held by rubber push on fastner things, and the seat keeps moving, do these rubber 'things' pull off to release the seat brackets? don't want to damage anything by trying to pull them off.

A picture of the fitting would be helpful. Some seats require access to underside to fit and some can be fitted from top.
