The existing diaphragm, made of some kind of black cloth has got some tears in it so the flush no longer works.

Got a replacement clear plastic sheet diaphragm at a hardware shop but having sized it against the siphon tube, its longer length ways but about 1/4" short on the narrower way of the tube.

Does the diaphragm have to be an accurate fit in the tube?

It needs to cover the platform - if it doesn't then water will flow past it when you try to flush.

The diaphragm does cover the platform so presumably will do ?

Look like you might get away with it (despite the off centre hole)

There's a large diameter ceramic disc that sits on so that will cover the offset hole.

Having thought about, I could have cut a diaphragm from a fertilizer bag perhaps.

Thanks for posting by the way, much appreciated.

Job done!

I trimmed the diaphragm a bit length ways for a better fit in the tube. Its been working well enough, so all is well.

I know exactly what to do now next time the flush stops working.

Thanks again!
