what would cause oil light to illuminate at low revs and at idle besides oil level.

just had a second hand cyl head with new gasket etc. would the breather oil seperator cause symtoms. i need to do an oil change aswell.
As a matter of course it should have had the oil and filter changed at the same time the head was off. The breather is unlikely to be the cause of the light staying on. Wotan's reply has covered the most likely causes .

he mentions wrong grade of oil, would old oil be similar and cause problem mileage on clock is 120000
it was the oil pressure switch faulty.
The one thing I forgot to mention! at least it was a cheap fix, thanks for letting us know.
