Trellis on top of fence

Hi,

I am looking to add some trellis to the top of my 6ft fence, which will be 1 or 2 ft high. My question is, is this ok to do, I am aware of the whole 6FT high fence limit but does this allow you to add trellis to the top of it?

Also whats the best way to fix the trellis to the fence, I can only find 6ft long trellis and the distance between fence posts is a bit bigger in some places?
