If you have a bright inspection lamp you can shine it under the outer drum and locate the bra wire by looking through the holes in the inner drum. You should also be able to see the main outlet hose. These wires usually get tangled in the heater element but can sometimes be pushed to within reach of the outlet hose using a long thin screwdriver poked though holes in the drum. You can then remove the hose from underneath the machine and extract the wire. If this does not work you have to take the back off the machine and remove the heater to get at the bra wire.

Hi Fido, saw your spot on DIYnot re removing a brawire from a tricity Bendix washer. We have a stone (thanks to 3&4yo boys) stuck in between the inner and outer drums. We've removed the back and bottom plates, and are trying to remove the heater element. Any tips on how to do it or where the stone might be lodged. It was initially making a horrible noise, now with all the manoevering it has stopped when we turn the drum, but no sight of the stone in the outlet hole. Lots of white plastic scrapings which I assume are damage to the outer plastic drum. Any suggestions?

Stones and larger items can get caught between the front edge of the inner and outer drums.

Remove the sump and heater to have a good look and check between the inner and outer drums at the front.

To remove the heater, undo the nut on the stud in the centre untill it reaches the end of the threaded part of the stud 'do not remove the nut' , gently tap the stud until it goes inwards and the nut buts up against the heater plate. Then gently pull the heater backwards, it can be quite hard and sometimes you have to wiggle it from side to side.
