I'm converting my garage, and have applied for a building warrant. I'm doing the application myself, so far so good. But...Building Control have asked for 8000m2 of trickle vent to the window I'm planning to add.
Can anyone advise if this is standard with new double glazed windows? I haven't bought the unit yet and want to ensure that I'll be able to provide what they're asking for.

Thanks in advance!

8000sq/m of trickle vent, I don’t think so! I assume that’s a typo & its 8000 sq/mm; this equates to 2 vents approx 400 a 10mm each.

Trickle vents are not standard in every case & you have to specify them & the ventilation area required when ordering the window; additional cost should be around £15 each vent. BC is probably asking for this as it’s a new conversion & certain standards of fixed ventilation are required. I believe there are other ways of providing this BC would accept though.

Richard,
Yes it's a typo  Thanks for the info, that's really helpful....
