Triton Ivory II - No hot water!!!

Hi,

Yesterday the shower, whilst in use, apparently made some very strange noises. My girlfriend described it as a loud whirring followed by a popping sound.

The shower still works but the pressure has dropped and only gives out cold water. I've taken the cover off and inspected the inside but can't see any visible scorch marks or obvious faults.

Can anyone please offer any advice to which part may have gone?

the whirring noise followed by popping sounds like the shower was overheating and the popping is the tco activating.

which will be a result of poor flow through the shower.

this is the ivory II.

you need to do a few checks.
1. is the pressure switch rising when shower turned on/off ?
2. check the top tco for continuity with a multi meter.
3. check the inlet filter.

Please forgive my ignorance but in response to your advice can you clarify the following:-

1. Where is the pressure switch and should I be able to see it visibly moving?
2. Will check TCO with multi meter hopefully in the next day or 2
3. Is the inlet filter where the water supply pipe connects to?

1.yes moves up/down against a micro switch.
3.isolate mains supply to shower remove inlet pipe and gauze filter is inside white plastic part.
