The legal limit for minimum depth of the tread is 1.6 millimetres, across the central ¾ of the tread area around the complete circumference of the tyre but if the feathering is bad, get them changed as suggested.
If your front tyres have worn on the outer edge only, it’s usually a sign there is something wrong with the steering geometry, usually the tracking; if it’s affecting the rears as well, under inflation could be the cause &/or excessively hard cornering.
