Hi all,

Just a query regarding the display on my Worcester Bosch 30si Compact that I had installed a few months back.

I have a symbol on the display that isn't in any of the documentation, the clock symbol, see pics:

I presume it relates to a timer unit - which I don't have - that sits in the middle under the blank panel, if you have it.

This could be in some way connected to the fact the boiler doesn't ever fully shut off - my wireless thermostat can communicate with it's receiver, but won't ever switch the boiler on/off.

Any clues anyone?

Cheers!
Jonny

Try page 11 of the user manual - as far as I can see that's an exact match for the image you have posted.

Nice one. A trip to the opticians needed!

Seems that this symbol appears when the domestic hot water is controlled by timer - which would mean that the timer is wired to control the hot water instead of the heating.

To be honest, the bloke who fitted it seemed a bit 'yee-ha', but he was cheap....

Easy fix do you think?

And he was of course GasSafe registered and you've received a building regs. compliance certificate haven't you? And a minor works notice to confirm that the electrics are to standard?

As for an easy fix - are you sure it needs fixing?

Have a close read of the manual again! (page 11) - Domestic hot water - Pre-heat/Ecomode

Minor works for electrics what is one if them. I can work from the fused spur to the boiler including controls without one of them.

Yes you can (providing that your installation is to standard)but you still need to competent

Bear in mind that the OP describes the installer as a bit "yee-ha" & cheap.
I'm simply asking if he is competent!

Yeah pretty sure - the timer is wired to the hot water. It's a combi boiler, so I'd rather have hot water on demand and the timer controlling the heating, instead of heating being permanently on.
