I have to connect from a soil stack to a clay drainage pipe (less than 1m). I'll use a flexible adaptor for the clay to PVC, but is it a no-no to use a short run of soil pipe to use as drainage?

Using soil pipe underground isn't a problem, it's usually avoided due to cost. Soil pipe is protected against sunlight, underground isn't, hence soil pipe is more expensive to buy.

The product will perform fine, but all foul and surface water drainage should be brown in colour just as gas is yellow, water blue etc.

Thanks giuys, looked up a building regs document which stated should be brown so bought 3m.
