We have a Vaillant ecotec plus 615 and we lost hot water. We checked the boiler and discovered the water pressure on the boiler had dropped. We topped this up as described in the manual. We still have no hot water. The heating works fine but we're not sure what else to try. I've called Vaillant and they say it's not a boiler issue and have suggested it's the main control system (our Honeywell timer on the wall - which I though was only for heating). We haven't changed this so what are they talking about? It's still under warranty but they wont send an engineer. Any suggestions would be great.

They're saying that whatever tells the boiler to turn on for hot water isn't working, and it's nothing to do with the boiler, which is right because it turns on for heating.
If you don't have a rudimental understanding of how the system works you would be better getting a heating engineer in.
