I have stripped victorian floorboards in my house which I sanded properly a few years back and then varnished with a ronseal diamond hard stain/varnish. Some areas are starting to show signs of traffic where the varnish has worn off. Do I really need to resand the whole floor or is there any way that I can touch these areas up? Any advice would be appreciated.

Clean the floor with a specialist floor cleaner, key the surface with a sanding screen, then you can apply a new coat of lacquer across the whole floor.
A buffing machine will make the first 2 parts easier.
You can only do this if you are not back to bare wood, if you are you will end up with a slightly patchy look.

and after you've followed the above advice, treat your floor to maintenance every 5 - 6 moths to keep it from happening again and again and again.
