wallpaper seams

hi all, saw some advice o here about papering which said to leave a very slight ridge at the paper edges which would disappear when the paper dries, not sure why but this hasnt happened and now i am left with a very noticeable but only slight ridge at the paper edges. does anyone have a suggestion on hw to remedy this? if i damp down a little and use a seam roller will this help? bit desperate as i have donw an entire wall.....oops wife will kill me !!!!

Always use a seam roller ! Never lap a joint, whoever said that is an idiot ! Butt joint it tight and seam roller it on every length. Depends how big the lap is, if its a lot you can use a straight edge and a very sharp blade to cut it back, but only when the paper is dry.
 
thanks robbie its only very slight ridge but you can see it.
