We have just had a new composite front door fitted, but it does not seal properly at the top and bottom corners on the lock side. The fitters have been and adjusted it but not made any difference. The door is slightly out of shape as showed by the use of a plumb line. The company now wants to make the frame fit the door, saying this is what should have been done in the first place, and want to remove it, taking out the rendering and fit it again at the affected side. If the frame is square, which it is, shouldn't they fit another door that is true instead of trying to make the frame fit the warped door? We have not paid for it yet fortunately, but any advice would be most appreciated thanks.

heeelllooo and welcome Debsterw :D :D :D

if the frame is spot on dont touch it otherwise the next door wont fit

I would say let them try it on the condition that they inform the door supplier 1st and if it dosent work they will replace the slab.

I noticed today that DoorStop have started adding a page at the back of the fitting manual about bowed door slabs. I think it said something along the lines of a 5mm bow top to bottom was exceptable.

I have fitted both absolutely true and slightly warped composite doors and in every case the epdm seals made up up any slight discrepancies. However in each of these cases the posts had been fitted by others and allowances had to be made. In your case it would have been normal for the fitter(s) to have fitted/adjusted the posts to the door, in which case you would most likely never have noticed. swallow your misgivings, if you have any, and let them adjust the posts but ensure they do it to the letter, which you should insist upon from the seller and check as they go. If not you then someone knowledgeable whom you trust, in my opinion...pinenot :)
