Washing machine in an airing cupbord in a bathroom OK?

Hi I have a tiny flat with no room for cat swinging and I want to put a washing machine in an airing cupbord. It would fit below an electric (unvented) boiler and there is power. But it is in the bathroom. What does the law have to say? Can I or can't I? Thanks, JIM
