Washing machine waste pipe

Hi
I have a grey 40mm grey waste water outlet pipe that the washing machine outlet pipe goes into. There is a smell coming from the pipe and I would like to put some kind of cap on the pipe with a connection for the outlet pipe. Kind of make it air tight.
Can you please suggest something I can get from B&Q etc.
