Hi all i am clueless with plumbing so bear with me, my washer in my new house wasn't emptying and the water seemed to flow back into the machine !
Of to b&q i went and bought a new u bend/trap with a non return valve already in all was fine...........or so i thought.
It seems when i fitted the new trap i had moved or knocked the pipe at the back that carries away the water as i followed it approx. 1.5m i found it led to a main pipe or waste pipe where it seems to sit inside a collar and the water fall into it.

The problem i now have is that when i empty the sink it leaks from there and also makes a gurggling noise, i have tried putting more of the pipe into the stack, putting less in etc.etc. Is there some kind of seal i have broken? There is a rubber one but the pipe just seems to sit in it !!!! I know this will sound daft to most of you but it has been annoying me all day.
p.s. the pipe falls away to the stack approx. 3.5 cm lower, any help welcomed as the missus has a large stack of pots to do and i'm in the dog house lol :D
Many thanks
Wes

The gurgling noise means you need to let some air in. Change your sink trap for an anti vac one to assist drainage.

As for your pipe, it sounds as if it has come out of the collar boss. Try siliconing it (after disassembling and cleaning with white spirit) and see if that cures it. If not buy a new strap on boss and fit. :D
