Does anyone know what the first control should be from a water meter ,down stream ? before the stop cock in the house?

Some layouts say drain value ,some say stop cock ,and some say service value?

Drain-off should be after stopvalve (in relation to flow)

Usual layout coming in is stopvalve/meter/stopvalve/drain-off.

Depends on the individual meter setup.

Not a lot of good fitting a draincock before the stopcock, because you wouldn't be able to drain it out.
