I am filling in a door size aperture with plasterboard - in a finished wall. Should i leave the plasterboard recessed in a little to allow for skim plaster. If so - how much? Or should i bring the plasterboard level and fill/sand along joining edges. Thanks

leave it recessed a little if you're only going to skim the door area.
3-5mm is plenty.
if you want to over skim the whole wall then leave it flush.
