What is this socket??

I have recently moved into a new apartment and when i moved in i was told that these sockets, there are three in total connect to a light switch on the wall the idea being that i buy floor lamps and can come into the room and switch on all three with the flick of the swith.


Where do i buy an adpater to fit this sort of socket or if noone knows where from what are they called?? Ive tried maplin and a few other electrical retailers but noone seems to know what im going on about.

Any help would be greatly apprecited!

i will just need to change the plug on my electrical goods to get this to work i take it??

Yes, just change the plugs for those shown (resist the temptation to change the sockets and not the plugs - prevents none lighting equipment (e.g. 3KW fire) being plugged into the lighting circuit).

Oh dont worry i wont be changing the sockets, thats too much hard work,haha!
