Hi guys,

This should be a fairly easy question.

I have 2 water tanks (normal water + central heating) in the loft, it sits on a wooden board which is then supported by 4 or 5 pieces of wood underneath to spread the load.

Half of the board is empty but the other side has the water tanks, the wood support on the edge is slightly bent (would do due to the weight), it had a leak before but the wood seems fine (almost a year ago).

For peace of mind, I want to buy another plank of wood to put under it for support, is this a good idea and if so can you point me to the right type of wood so I can buy this from wickes or b&q?

measurements of 1 of the planks is approx L=2400cm, H=9cm, Width=3.5cm?

thanks

just a thought

if the platform was straddling a wall or other load bearing structure you may have to center the tank for safety as the other half off the "seesaw" is missing

sorry ignore my comment for some reason i thought you had removed a tank :D

ok but what type of wood do i get, theres a few.

Can someone send me a link?

By 'type of wood' do you mean grade?
If so, it's just ordinary common-or-garden C16 timber from any
timber yard or DIY shed; you don't have to ask specifically for it, it will ALL be C16; and 100 x 47 as Noseall said would do.
