Hi folks.

Im going to buy an SDS drill which I'm going to use for drilling holes in brick, concrete etc and removing a large amount of tiles from walls in various rooms. I would also like to use it to chase out a few channels in walls.

I've seen these two:-

Dewalt 2KG SDS Drill

Dewalt 3.4KG SDS Drill http://www.ffx.co.uk/tools/product/... L Shape Sds Hammer 3 Mode Low Vibration 230V

Will I see a major benefit from getting the heavier model or would the lighter ones do the job?

Thanks

If you are going to do much chasing / chiselling, I'd recommend the heavier machine.....although heavier to hold, it looks man enough for the job. The smaller machine will be fine for drilling alone, but will have a bit of a hard time with the chasing.
When you are chasing, do cut slots with an angle grinder first....but the dust will be hellish.
John :)

Have used the 2kg model on chasing and was fine, if you are inexperienced the bigger machines can run away with you.Your chase could end up a knock thru :)

Chiselling and chasing will really tire out a drill so often its best to spend the money on a decent sds 2kg which will last a life-time for general drilling etc and then a cheap throw away 4kg one for chasing chiselling etc.

I'm not planning on doing a lot of chasing so hopefully it should last a while :)

I bought the 3.4kg Dewalt (the third link) last night from ffx and should be deliver tomorrow with luck. Cheers for all the help folks
