My mum (86) nearly had a disaster as there was a leak but she could not turn the old stop cock - luckily someone knocked on the door and she got help.

1 Has anybody any experience of the "Surestop" press button stop cock ?
2 Or would a full bore lever valve with a handle extension be better ?
3 OR both - if the Surestop can fail "open"?, so have the other one as a bckup !!

Thanks

I would go for 2, if you have the space for long handle.

Don't trust surestop, bit unreliable and all plastic.

Daniel.

Surestops are good bits of kit, and I think you can purchase an extended warranty of up to 15 years

A lot of social housing landlords are now fitting Surestop along with a Stopcock.

When I had my kitchen refitted my stopcock became very hard to reach so I fitted a remote sure stop. Very happy with it. Just make sure to switch it once in a while to keep it moving.
