Whirlpool Dishwasher Headache!

Hi All,

I've got a Whirlpool DWF416 dishwasher (Ikea) for about 6-7 years, and it's now decided to beep as soon as I shut the door and the "Start" light is flashing consistently, with no breaks to identify the particular fault.

Any help would be great before I take a large hammer to it!
