Hi everyone,

yip still at it! last stretch now though! just wondering if I'm missing something here, but I cannot get galvanised lost head nails ANYWHERE in my neck of the woods, not even the building merchants have them. Can you actually get lost heads galvanised? They are for fixing close boards to fencing. What's the best 'type' of nail to use? have read lost heads or oval heads ought to be used. I reckoned the boards would 'ping' off the lost heads in strong winds!? true or false?!

thanks all
regards, kkatz

you need a decent annular round head nail. anything else is a waste of time

kk - yep, galvanised round head ring shank (Thermo's annular) are the ones to use.

ah, thanks guys, always had my doubts about that type of nail for this.

I'm assuming they won't rust? I think it spoils the look of a nice wooden fence when you see the rust water marks down the boards. I figured that's why lost heads are advised?

many thanks,
kkatz

you may get a small amount but it wont be a problem. lost heads wont hold them
